[SS] Hazy Silhouette OOC

The Magic Side is filled with rumours. A lot of them run into nothingness, but a select few can neither be proven nor disproven, only causing strong chills to run down people’s necks. Magic Gods or Vampires. Both terms exist, but do those creatures really exist?

And what happens if one categorised by one of those terms were to actually set foot into the normal world?

Yesterday a report reached the capital. In its vagueness it explained numerous rare phenomena occurring in and around the town of Whitby, which all pointed in one single, rather unfavourable direction: The potential threat assigned with the name «Vampire». A prospect so threatening that even tiny rumours, not backed by any evidence, would immediately cause a lot of eyes to turn towards that remote town shrouded in the fogs of mystery.

Some forced have been set into motion.

Independent investigators pursuing whatever idiocy in their own right, the Knights of England pursuing the safety of their home country and even one of the most powerful Magic Cabals in all of the United Kingdom, the Dawn-Coloured Sunlight, pursuing…?


So this is it, another Iva-original idea for another thread I kinda wanna pull through with. Once again I settled on setting the scale small, even though going with a rather challenging concept here, but I guess that’s alright.

Please be aware that this thread is not meant for Necessarius members to participate in. The focus will be on independent Magicians as well as the actual Knights of England, exploring the hostility between the participating parties.

Lastly the cast I will also limit to a maximum of about 4-5 slots.

I'm not going to miss out on a RP which Knights are allowed to join in.

Would make sense for Albrekka to look into it, as it deals with some part of how the world works. I'll join.

If you'll have me, I'd like to participate. Eln and I have already worked out how Cold Wool will end ahead of time, so any issues relating to that will be nonexistent. If there are any other potential issues with Erin being in this plot, please let me know and I will withdraw my application.

My only concern is the date for the thread. I was planning on placing it earlier in the year. Any problems with that?

There are some options to go with as far as that's concerned:

Option A: We rework Cold Wool so that Erin and Albrekka already knew each other from this plot

Option B: We change Cold Wool's date to happen sooner (though this will be limited to spring, summer, and autumn)

Option C: The date of Hazy Silhouette is changed

Option D: Nothing changes, Erin just won't participate

I can go with any of them, if need be. If you feel like Erin won't be able to contribute much or isn't generally wanted, then i'll go with Option D.

Looking at my current absence which I may update in the days to come, I settled on starting the thread when I return. Not only because I will be a tad too busy, but also because I want to take some time to figure out where to take this with the current cast.

Can anyone suggest a means for proper ooc communication? I do like the conversation via the ooc thread, but I'd also like some other means, so that we can stay in contact easily. Communication is the baseline of good thread management and player interaction after all.
I'll also try to keep you updated on what I'd like you to do and avoid etc.

I suggest just creating a chatango box for this thread. I can imagine much discussion will occur regarding this thread.

The thing I noticed about chatango boxes is the lack of attention given to those.
Take Grail box for example. Unless specifically called out nobody went there >_>

I think all of us have Skype, so a Skype group chat might be the better option.

Mostly because Grail was rather uninteresting. lol yeah, skype group seems like the obvious solution than. Or should we go retro and install an old version of MSN messenger.

Does MSN Messenger even still work?

Now that I have finally returned, I moved this thread to the OOC section.

Also as you can see I have begun evaluating our last two participants. Once those are through I will commence the thread.

But as people can buy stuffs with physically-nonexistent money, I guess I can say I have the character and I'll be joining this thread, I suppose.

The original thought was 5 players max, but Jack basically handles the role of a secondary GM, so no overstepping things for me~

Skype Group is up, you all were invited. From now on discussion will either take place there or in this thread.

I like a bit of context to the formation of the Knight group in HS. Since I have doubts this is a final minute put together and would imagine there is some history how this team was put together. At least some discussion about how Henry and Alexander has met. You asked if he should know his ideals maybe we can explain how this came across to him and his reaction.

As I said in the Skype group, this would be a recent-ish formation. Moore's rising through the ranks and steadily accruing promotions, so this would be his most recent one. So while it's not entirely new, it's not exactly old and well-established either.

So the history would be "Moore, you've gotten promoted." "Yay! What to?" "Squad commander. You get to lead nine men." "Oh, hooray! What're their names?" "X, Y, Z, Alexander, B, C, D, E, and F." "I can't wait to meet them." Then they meet, get acquainted, maybe do one or two missions between the time of formation and Hazy Silhouette(?).

One or two missions huh? Well that's fine with me but a vague idea what they were is handy, you know for good character interaction. Maybe one of those missions Alexander embarrassed himself and you tease him about it? Or maybe Henry embarrassed himself or just one of the other members of the group. A wonderful group of soldiers often partake in bravado or some banter, it's just I would enjoy emulating such behaviours or maybe it's just me.

Bring some humanity to the group, other that eight stale faces and just us two.

Much to think about on honestly, and I'm still curious on how Henry feels about Alexander's ideals and what he thinks about it. Either be naivety, respect or foolishness it's up to you, what concerns me is that does Alex know where Henry stand on it.

I think what Jack is trying to establish here is Henry and Alex not knowing each other well, so that Alex can explore his personality in the thread. Therefore there should be no need on any sort of background knowledge or preset relationship.

Explore such things in the actual RP, since those questions could very well and much easier be answered in a post, instead of the OOC.

That's perfectly fine, just wanted the full story before we move any further. Since Jack's post partly implied a sense of history and I wanted to know the full stretch of it. My main curious was the response to Henry knowing his ideals, but if he hasn't let his opinions be known to him it's best indeed to find out through interactions.

So sally forth and all that unless Jack wants to bring up anything else.

Since I don't think there will be an update from me any time soon, I shall hereby announce that Hazy Silhouette will have an indefinite hiatus.
