This might actually be a random thought crossing my mind right now, but I actually wonder if it's smart to get a first-come-first-serve kind of mentality running here. I mean the possibility exists that someone ninjas someone else by posting right before they're posting their post.

I mean, not that it already happened, but you know what I mean~

I'd at least suggest we tried communicating our intentions on posting a bit more, so that we don't end up at a messy/contradicting flow to the entire thing.

First come first served doesn't literally mean that, it's mainly a scene reasoning more than an actual post reasoning. Simply that there's no restricted posting order stuck in one arrangement and it's adaptive to whatever is going on.

I still think there's really just no communication whatsoever on who will post and who won't. I'm just saying it'd be best to drop a shot pointer like: Writing my post right now, anyone else at it as well? Or something like that~

I will have time later today to post, so if no one is able to post by then (around 5pm EST), then I will.

Communicating when you're posting is fine, but I'd like to avoid lengthy delays where someone can't post or can't think of anything to post ends up holding the rest of the thread up. So if you're about to make a post then mention it in here, but don't worry about 'skipping ahead in line' or whatever.

And on that note, given the recent (great) posts we've had I think we'll re-adjust intro times for people.

Mirai and Oda are still on for turning up at the crime scene tonight (whether it's before or after Mugino and Miyako leave is up to you lot to decide between yourselves though.)

Jin, Koyoko and Kita will have to arrive the next day once Anti-Skill have started their investigation.

Should I post foreshadowing Koyoko's involvement the next day, or should I just wait until the next day actually happens. Figured it'd be nice to leave a small Post about our forum's favorite scumbag doing fuck all to help society grow and prosper or whatever x)

Just felt like I'd ask. If I do post, it'd just be one post and all about waiting for the next day after the investigations get going.

I was thinking I'd go next after Alex, but thinking about it, it could be more worth it to have Lemouri go next and reply to his post if she fancies it before I reply to Iva's. Having an adaptive posting dynamic that does show who's talking to who without confusion could bring a nice flow with the parallel (?) scenes.

Unless people do want me to go next anyway. I'm not too fussed, just figured I'd throw the idea out there.

Posted. I think I've caught something though so hopefully the post isn't too bad because of it. Thankfully I had some fair amount of time to think on how to write it, so it should balance things out anyway.

As for Alex, not what I meant by timestamp, but OK.

Everything's going well so far. I've just added a post detailing the crime scene a bit more thoroughly to give you all some ideas for how to proceed.

Since this is classed as a 'choose your own story' thread I think it's only fair I give you a couple of options to help you out at this point.

Both victims phones are still on the scene. It might be possible to get some information about their movements and intentions if you're able to get into them.

The keys to both victims' living spaces are also there. You may find something at their respective homes that could give you a better picture of what they were up to.

Or you might decide to look into their workplaces?

Failing all of the above you might decide to leave all evidence for Anti-Skill to find and shadow their investigation so they do the hard work for you.

And for the sake of the story, if you decide to take a piece of evidence with you then please leave the rest so that the other characters get a chance. I'd recommend forming groups of 2-3 so you have other characters to interact with (and partially to keep me from going insane keeping track of you all...)

Interestingly enough, this is a part where Miyako and Natsumi would make completely different choices. Kind of makes me glad I decided to roll with the idea instead of introducing her straight away for that sort of contrast, though it's going to make involving her into the story an interesting ordeal during the next day.

I'll reveal what I've chosen (and therefore which side of the incident Miyako will focus on) once I get around to posting on my turn, since I'm curious to see which option Iva will grab first.

Does Iva want to go next before I post? If not let me know as I can work on it after work on Sunday.

Iva mentioned he'd go next a few times, he's just occupied elsewhere currently. It's ideally better to let everyone have their turn rather than have one group rush ahead of the other.

I figured as much, been losing track of a few things due to busy day so just checking just in case. Yeah, the current order seems very ideal ATM.

I'm assuming Mirai and Taichi will be going next now that we've had our turn for our scene, but as a heads-up I may not be able to post until Tuesday/Wednesday even if they do. Hopefully it won't derail much in terms of pacing.

So, I've decided that Miyako will be taking the melted man's phone and investigating on the item rather than the actual Masked Man for now (though I do have plans for that later on). I've also had her note down a few other pieces of information she could use from the other items that were on the corpse, but only the phone has been claimed and the rest has been put back in place and will be left behind.


Everyone, feel free to get the ball rolling on the item you want to use to orientate your investigation towards.

I take it Mirai and Oda are heading down to the underpass? So if Mugino and Miyakowant to remain incognito they'll need to make a move in their next post. Otherwise all four of you will meet up. Now I've not got a problem with that, but if you two want to stay hidden then you'll need to escape now.

Iva, have you decided on how you want Mugino to continue? IS she going to let her underlings do the investigating? In which case I'll post up their findings once it comes time for her to hunt down Koyoko, but you won't have anything to do in the meantime. Or she could tail Miyako or one of the others? Or pick up something to investigate herself.

In any case, its time for Mirai and Oda to stumble upon a gruesome sight...

A bit late for this, I know, but I was thinking about Jin's introduction since having him just kinda tagging along out of boredom feels rather forced. Perhaps instead, he comes across Koyoko being chased down and tags along out of curiosity and a lacking sense of self preservation?
